Drawing on her first-hand experience and knowledge, after living in Gaza from 1993 to 1997 and then in Ramallah for many years to date, Amira Hass shared insight into both the realities of life in Gaza before and since October 7th as well as the mindset and perspective of Palestinians living there. She reviewed Israel's policies over the years of deepening the occupation the oppression of Palestinians. She and others had warned for years that it is not possible to maintain the oppression of others. Oppressed people will fight back. Hass spoke about how important it is for us as Jews to resist normalizing evil and injustice.  She spoke about how the general public in Israel does not want to look at what is occurring in Gaza.
